3. Ask to test the machine. Actually getting on it and starting it up and taking it for a test drive/run, will allow you to see exactly how the machine feels, sounds, and works. Test all of the controls and watch and make sure that all the parts are functioning properly.

4. Look for leaks, etc. After you have tested the machine out, take a look around the motor and other movable hydraulic parts. Look to see if there are any leaks anywhere that might show a sign that the machine is worn out.
